A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of having Hiba join me for her 2nd college placement from Sheridan College. She is always a joy to work with and just filled with creativity and her own breathtaking style of photography and styling!
The best part of a night of feminism (other than the amazing panel discussion) was taking that discussion into the real world over chicken wings and beer. It was having really deep conversations with Michelle (The Batch Makr) about what feminism means to us, and how we can bring it practically into the world we exist in.
Next week I’m so excited to welcome my 2 placement students from Sheridan College. Both will be graduating this year from the Visual Merchandising Program (which is what my diploma is in) and I cannot wait to show them the ropes of graphic design and business ownership! Over the next 2 weeks we will be creating some amazing content for some of my clients as well as perfecting their flat lay skills with Jessica Waugh Photography.
Well after a great New Years Eve Instagram post about how I have no freaking idea what I’m doing with my life, I thought it would be a good time to talk about making sure you are working towards designing a life you love!
When I planned this blog post during my week long BLISS planning, I thought I would fill these “pages” with great tips to encourage you and practical plans to make sure you love your life, but then I lived through this last December and realized I am SO NOT QUALIFIED to tell anyone how to design their lives, because I am still learning how to design my own.
As some of you know, last week I tackled a HUGE thing. I finally (after many months of winging it) nailed down my business growth strategy for 2019!!!!
Now this shouldn’t be a surprise, right? “Of course I have a strategy!” I mean, I’m an award winning designer and run a group that encourages small business owners to get their shit together. But for the first year of business, my strategy has been just “take what comes and do a hella good job with it” AND GUYS! THAT WAS NOT ENOUGH!
Without word of mouth referrals, my business would never have gotten off the ground! Having happy clients, who in turn refer me to more happy clients, is 100% why I love what I do. Being able to contribute to the small business community, while running my own business is the dream (and so far so good!)
As a way to say “THANK YOU!” to all my amazing clients who so graciously allow me to join them on their branding journey, I am happily putting in place some referral bonuses!
This girl has been nominated for The Young Professional or Entrepreneur of the Year (YPEG Award) through The Oakville Awards for Business Excellence and the Oakville Chamber Of Commerce!
If you follow my Facebook Page, you will have noticed a great little announcement on the 2nd. I was nominated for FOUR Oakville Readers Choice Awards! Which is super exciting and works well, as I am always super stoked about supporting our local business community.
