I recently caught myself working 12 hours days while raising kids, keeping house and still trying to have somewhat of a social life, and while doing all that, the little voice in my head (who sounds ALOT like my business strategist, Jillian) told me to get a little more “happy” in my life. So I booked a last minute weekend getaway to a spot that has been on my bucket list forever ❤ HELLO BRUCE PENINSULA!
The best part of a night of feminism (other than the amazing panel discussion) was taking that discussion into the real world over chicken wings and beer. It was having really deep conversations with Michelle (The Batch Makr) about what feminism means to us, and how we can bring it practically into the world we exist in.
Next week I’m so excited to welcome my 2 placement students from Sheridan College. Both will be graduating this year from the Visual Merchandising Program (which is what my diploma is in) and I cannot wait to show them the ropes of graphic design and business ownership! Over the next 2 weeks we will be creating some amazing content for some of my clients as well as perfecting their flat lay skills with Jessica Waugh Photography.
If you are ever wandering Downtown Oakville and you start feeling like you could really use a glass of wine and an even better meal, definitely stop in at Noble Bistro. Bring a friend, drink the wine, try the duck, demolish a plate of wild boar ragu, and at least a few bites of dessert😉 and I swear you’ll end up having a pretty perfect evening.
I so love when I get happy colour emails in my inbox! This girl is such a sucker for Pantone Colour Theory and all the other good stuff that comes with new colour reports and the current trends! Bonus when the colour scheme goes so perfectly with my last batch of branding shots by Three Crowns Studio.
Well after a great New Years Eve Instagram post about how I have no freaking idea what I’m doing with my life, I thought it would be a good time to talk about making sure you are working towards designing a life you love!
When I planned this blog post during my week long BLISS planning, I thought I would fill these “pages” with great tips to encourage you and practical plans to make sure you love your life, but then I lived through this last December and realized I am SO NOT QUALIFIED to tell anyone how to design their lives, because I am still learning how to design my own.
As some of you know, last week I tackled a HUGE thing. I finally (after many months of winging it) nailed down my business growth strategy for 2019!!!!
Now this shouldn’t be a surprise, right? “Of course I have a strategy!” I mean, I’m an award winning designer and run a group that encourages small business owners to get their shit together. But for the first year of business, my strategy has been just “take what comes and do a hella good job with it” AND GUYS! THAT WAS NOT ENOUGH!
